Jerry Holliday, author of the top selling eBook ‘New New Media World’, interviews Antonio Magico and gets a snapshot into his life as a VMdirect affiliate

When did you start your VMdirect business?

I started on the 8th of October 2008 when I signed up as an affiliate with the company.

Why did you become a VMdirect affiliate?

To begin with I became an affiliate as a way of earning some money to help pay off the debt that I’d build up over the past 13 years as a university student.

Then, once I got into the business and began to earn good money from it each month, I started to think about building a career out of it, which I have started to do.

How did you find out about VMdirect?

Well, I’d never heard of them until I received a lovely video email from Duncan Turner, a VMdirect affiliate, offering to provide video streaming free of charge to a community project that I’m involved with – that was in September 2008.

Why did you choose VMdirect over other affiliate programmes out there?

I was looking for a business that sat comfortably with my values and wanted something that was environmentally friendly.
I checked out the company and found that the business model they use has been praised by academics such as Professor Charles King who see it as one of the most ethically based business models in use.

I’d also read an article on a website about how virtual products cut down on packaging and postage costs resulting in less carbon emissions.

I then discovered the products and service that VMdirect offer and started to read articles on how video streaming is going to be the next biggest trend to hit the net – so I became an affiliate and haven’t looked back.

How Much time do you spend on your VMdirect business each week?
I generally spend about 10 hours on it each week – I spend the rest of my time studying for my PhD but I aim to focus on it full time once I finish studying.

Did you have any trouble get your business off the ground?

Not really as I love talking to people and just told everyone I know that I’ve started a business and invited them to have a look at the products on offer.

What’s the most memorable thing that’s happened to you so far?

The most memorable thing that has happened to me since becoming an affiliate was receiving a video email for Richard Burnett who congratulated me for hitting a particular sales target. Richard is one of the top people in the company and senior advisor to the Richard Kall, CEO of VMdirect.

What’s the purpose of this website when VMdirect provide you with one?

The website that the company provide is great as an information site telling people about the products and the affiliate programme they run, but there’s only a limited amount of personal information that you can put on there.

I use this website as my personal profile so that people who are interested in joining my team can get a feel for the type of person I am.

What I hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

That’s a hard question Jerry – give me a minute to think about this.

Ok, well there are three main things that I hope to achieve over the next 12 months.

First, I want to become the best I can be as a VMdirect affiliate. Now I know that this probably sounds a bit corny but it’s true. I love the feeling I get when I become good at something and make a success of it. I have bags of intrinsic motivation and when I try to be good at something I put all of my effort into what I’m
focusing on until I become the best I can be.

Second, I want to help everyone who joins my team to make a success of their VMdirect business. I love supporting people to achieve their goals and I’m really looking forward to the day when everyone in my team has hit some or all of their goals. This is one of the reasons I’m happy to personally mentor everyone who is in my team who has the desire to make a success of themselves and their VMdirect business. I’m also happy to offer a website like this one to everyone who joins my team via any of the links on this website.

Third, for my efforts I want to create a health monthly residual income for myself so that I can spend more time on the first two points that I’ve just mentioned. Having a health monthly residual income will also free up more of my time so that I can focus on supporting a local community project that I’m involved with to raise funds to keep the project going.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of becoming a VMdirect affiliate?

Well I’d strongly advice them to take their time and think about it very carefully. There are no guarantees that they’ll make money from their affiliate membership. Some people get involved and don’t make a penny from it. Though I must say that the affiliates that I’ve met like this are either not putting in the effort or are not putting into practice much of the mentoring advice their receiving.

I’d also advice them to consider whether or not they have the time, energy, enthusiasm, drive, commitment and resilience needed to make a success of their business.

And, for the people that are willing to give it their best shot, I’d advice them to sign up into a good team so they can tap into the support and resources that the team may be able to offer them.

In a nutshell what advice would you give to a new VMdirect affiliate?

Get out there and invite as many people as they can to look at products the company offer such as AttainResponse and helloWorld – the more people you show the products to the more sales you will make and the more commissions you will earn. Also, I’d make sure that they know that they can contact me at anytime they needed help our support to grow their business.

Will it be ok to interview you again in the future to see how you’re getting on with your business?

Yes, with pleasure – I look forward to it Jerry.

Thanks Antonio and good luck with your business.
