On Saturday 11th July 09 several VMdirect Affiliates from within my team meet up at the Marriott Royal Bristol Hotel to celebrate some of our recent successes.

The two affiliates in the video are Vince Turley and Gavinder Panesar – they both have big plans and I really believe they’ll achieve them! 

The person taking the video is Jerry Holliday author of New New Media World - and also a very successful affiliate within the team.

Our next celebratory meeting is going to be held in October this year – in my home town of Birmingham UK – and organised by Gavinder Panesar.

I’m really looking forward to the October 09 meeting as it will mark my first year as a VMdirect Affiliate – I’m not doing bad now so I can’t wait to see what I’ve achieved by then!

My proudest moment as a VMdirect affiliate came in April 2009 when I received a video email from Richard Kall, CEO and Chairman of VMdirect, congratulating me for going bronze.

There aren’t many CEO’s of big companies such as VMdirect that take the time to recognise the achievements of their workforce.

It felt good receiving this video email.

I’m so happy that I got into this business as it has led me to meet some really interesting people – one of these being Judith Germain, a leadership consultant who assists senior executives to manage their mavericks effectively.

I think Judith is doing a fantastic job in educating senior management to recognise the potential contribution of mavericks within their workforce.

Now as a bit of a maverick myself, I’ve experienced first hand what it’s like to be a high achiever within an organisation whilst at the same time receiving little support from my line manager as a result of me being his ‘worst nightmare’.

If only I’d know Judith back then as I would have sent him on one of her course and got him back all sorted out!!! (There’s a bit of cheeky maverick speak for you!)

On Tuesday this week I spent half the day with Nat Newton who came all the way up from St. Ives in Cornwall, to Bristol, to talk about AttainResponse and also to share his business plans with me.

Nat’s only 21 years old and became an affiliate in November 2008. He’s a young man with a good head for business – I wish I’d been the same as him when I was his age – I would have retired by now!  

Nat’s been busy in Cornwall over the past two months telling dozens of businesses about AttainResponse and showing many of them how to use it to drive traffic to their websites and increase sales.

I predict that Nat’s going to become a big name within VMdirect circles as he has so much energy and enthusiasm – and loves telling everyone he meets how great AttainResponse is.

I also met up with a great friend of mine, Glen R Clemmings, this week to talk about AttainResponse.

Glen became an affiliate with VMdirect back in 2007 and has built up a great reputation for himself since joining.

I love spending time with Glen and always come away having learnt something really interesting from him – we also always have a great laugh together.

I’ve made it my mission to visit all 9 billion website to check out how many of them are using video streaming technology such as AttainResponse.

It’s really amazing to see just how fired up people are getting over VMdirect’s new product, AttainResponse.

One of the affiliates in my team, Vince Turley, rode his classic motorbike down from Tamworth to Bristol (120k) on Sunday 10th May to talk about AttainResponse and how he’s planning to sell it in his neck of the woods. Vince has big plans and is set to make a small fortune once he’s put his plan into action! Well done Vince and good luck!

 After talking about Vince’s sales strategy we found time to relax and soak up the sunshine on the steps of the Victoria Rooms (part of the University of Bristol).

We also found time to sell an AttainResponse account to Leo (back row of photo) who is setting up an email campaign to keep in touch with the thousands of people who have their photo’s taken with him each year.

After selling Leo an account we wished him a roaring success with his campaign but, by the look on his face, I don’t think this went down well with him at all!!!

One of the greatest advances in online communication has been the arrival of video streaming – i.e. the technology that enables video to be trickled into our computers in small chunks rather than arriving in one large block.

It was only a very short time ago that most computers would jam up trying to download a one minute video clip – and yet now, thanks to video streaming, we are able to watch full length feature films online!

The ability to create and stream video was until quite recently only achievable by large corporations with access to huge production and streaming budgets – and yet now, thanks to companies such as VMdirect, the same results can be achieved for a few pounds.

The ability to create video and stream it effectively over the internet eliminates the need to transform our thoughts into written words – giving us the ability to convey our most complex ideas to someone thousands of miles away as clearly as if we were standing only a few feet away from them.

For this reason, and perhaps for this reason alone, we will witness over the next decade the single most spectacular transformation of the internet ever seen since its creation.

What we first came to know as the internet – a text laden environment, flat and motionless, has now began to morph itself into what we will come to know it as in the future – a portal for the transportation of three dimensional information!

The day will soon come when you switch on your computers, perhaps no bigger than a wristwatch, and instantly receive a full size three dimensional representation of, lets say, a driving instructor, a piano teacher (accompanied with a virtual piano), or even our very own Raymond Blanc to teach us how to create the perfect meal for a loved one!

As far fetched as all of this may sound – it is only just around the corner thanks to advances in video streaming technology!

So where does this leave us in today’s world?

Well the answer is quite simple – it leaves us in a world with an amazing opportunity!

Quite simply, for those of us who have the vision – there exists an opportunity for us to be at the forefront of the video streaming retail industry as millions upon millions of people start requiring the tools they need to create and stream video!

As advanced and as futuristic as the internet becomes, it currently can’t replace the need for real people, just like you and me, to bring the developing video streaming technology to the market place and on to the computer screens of the end users – the retail consumers.

As a result, VMdirect – one of the worlds leading developers of video streaming technology – are reliant on the efforts of real people like us to sell their products for them.
